A total of 55,831 candidates, made up of 28,078 girls and 27,753 boys, out of the 603,328 candidates nationwide, are partaking for the 2025 BECE at 195 centres across the Eastern Region, which began on Wednesday, 11 June, to Wednesday, 18 June, 2025.
Across the country, 297,250 males and 306,078 females are expected to write this yearβs exam, representing the first batch seeking to benefit from the Free Senior High School (FSHS) Policy under the new government.
In the Eastern Region, a total of 2,164 schools, comprising 1,535 public and 629 private schools, are presenting candidates for the examination. Out of the total number, 47,122 candidates are from public schools, while 8,709 are from private schools.
