Eleven people have been injured following a road traffic collision at Eduadjei on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway on Tuesday evening.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Komenda Fire Station, responded to the incident shortly after 19:15hrs, arriving to find an Opel Astra travelling from Cape Coast to Komenda had collided with a Nissan Mini Bus heading in the opposite direction.
Ten passengers aboard the mini bus were rescued by passersby and transported to the Elmina Poly Clinic, meanwhile, the driver of the Opel Astra, who was trapped in the vehicle, was successfully extricated by the GNFS rescue team and later conveyed to the same facility by the National Ambulance Service.
The injured, nine men and two women, sustained varying degrees of injuries. Firefighters also cleared debris from the road to restore traffic flow, while investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
