Master Nicholas Buamah, an 11-year-old boy and founder of Books without Borders Foundation has donated fourteen thousand Ghana cedis (GH₵14,000) to the National Health Insurance Scheme.
The donation is to help register and renew children on to the scheme. A cheque was presented on his behalf to the CEO on Tuesday at the NHIA head office.
Last year, Master Nicholas Buamah made a generous donation of nine thousand Ghana cedis to help register children onto the scheme.
According to Nicholas, he is always concerned about the healthcare of children, and therefore his decision to raise money using his YouTube platform.
This year’s donation of 14,000 Ghana cedis was presented on his behalf by the host of Kids Areena, a television show on TV3.
The CEO of the NHIA, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye received the donation on behalf of the Authority and thanked young Buamah for his kind gesture and assured him of registering the children onto the scheme. He also called on other benevolent persons to emulate the kind gesture of Nicholas.
The amount donated will cater for about 2,300 children, which will be a significant number of children to be registered onto the scheme. Nicholas Buamah is a published author and philanthropist and the founder of Books without Borders, a nonprofit organization.
Nicholas has worked on several charitable projects here in Ghana and is now the ambassador for the kids Department at Opemsuo Radio, which is the Manhyia Palace Media.
