An 11-year-old pupil of El-Shaddai International School located at Mabey, between Agbogba and Haatso in Accra has been left severely bruised after a teacher subjected him to merciless caning.
The student, Sylanus Opoku Gyimah suffered bruises on his back, buttocks, and neck.
According to the mother of the victim, her son only picked a rubbish that the teacher, identified as Iddrisu threw on the ground and kept it under his desk.
The boy’s action is said to have angered the teacher who promised to beat him till he required the services of an ambulance.
Another teacher who is said to have chanced on Iddrisu rescued Sylanus.
Though the matter has been reported to the Police, no action has been undertaken as Iddrisu continues to teach in the school, according to mother of the victim.
Crime Check TV contacted the headteacher of the school, known as Edem who confirmed the incident but declined to make any further statements saying he was not in the position to comment on it.
