2,009 Police recruits pass out

Two thousand and nine (2,009) Police Recruits have passed-out of five Police Training Schools after successfully undergoing mandatory six months basic police training.

Two thousand and nine (2,009) Police Recruits have passed-out of five Police Training Schools after successfully undergoing mandatory six months basic police training.

The schools are the National Police Training School (NPTS) at Accra; Police Public Safety Training School (PPSTS) at Pwalugu; Regional Police Training Schools (RPTS) at Ho, Kumasi and Koforidua.

A standardised examination was conducted for all the Recruits in their final examinations with Recruit Constable Wonder Segbedzi of the RPTS/Ho, emerging as the Overall Best Recruit and Recruit Constable Hannah Arthur of PPSTS/Pwalugu as the Overall Best Female Recruit.

Reviewing Officers for the parades at the various schools charged the newly passed-out Constables to be professional in their daily duties to ensure maximum security for the people and communities in Ghana.

The Reviewing Officers for the passing-out parades were: COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for the NPTS/Accra; COP Mr. Christian Yohuno for the RPTS/Koforidua; COP Mr. Nathan Kofi Boakye for RPTS/Kumasi; COP Mr. George Alex Mensah for RPTS/Ho and COP Mrs. Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah for PPSTS/Pwalugu.

The fresh Constables studied basic aspects of practical police duties, community policing, human rights, criminal investigation, the law of evidence, criminal law and procedure, weaponry, and tactical operations among others.

The Inspector-General of Police congratulates all the new Police Officers and welcomes them to work.
