2021 NSMQ: Prempeh College are champs

The ‘Amanfour’ boys, Prempeh College secured the bragging rights as winners of the 2021 National Science & Maths Quiz after beating reigning champions Presbyterian Boys SHS and Keta SHTS.

The ‘Amanfour’ boys, Prempeh College secured the bragging rights as winners of the 2021 National Science & Maths Quiz after beating reigning champions Presbyterian Boys SHS and Keta SHTS.

At the end of the competition, Prempeh College obtained 53pts with Presbyterian Boys Senior School emerging 2nd with 59pts, followed by Keta SHTS 30pts.

It was a tight competition as students  from the three schools were engaged in a serious mind battle till the end of the final round.

This is Prempeh College’s fifth title.

Presbyterian Boys School (PRESEC), Legon, remains the school with the highest (6) national titles.

Prempeh College gets a cash prize of GHC80,000. GH₵40,000 to the school, GH₵20,000 to the students, and GH₵20,000 to the teachers. and packages from AirtelTigo.

For placing second, PRESEC-Legon took home “GHS30,000 to the school, GHS17,000 to the team of students, and GH₵17,000 to the teachers. So that’s GH₵64,000 total.”

The Keta SHTS for placing third received “GH₵50,000. GH₵20,000 to the school, GH₵15,000 to the students, and GH₵15,000 to the teachers.”

The National Science & Maths Quiz is proudly sponsored by the Ghana Education Service, in partnership with Absa Bank, and supported by Joy News, GOIL, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, AirtelTigo, Dano Milk, Joy Industries, Newmont Ghana, Kiki Juice Drink, Accra College of Medicine, Academic City University College, Adansi Travels, Kenya Airways, Zipline, GTP, and YFM.
