Defending Champions, France will face Argentina on Sunday, December 18 in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar.
France after seeing off Morocco in the second semi-final game on Wednesday booked their ticket to their second consecutive final after they won it in Russia four years ago.
Didier Deschamps’ men started the game on a bright note as they took the lead after the fifth-minute mark in the first half.
An acrobatic volley from Theo Hernandez put the French in the driving seat making them the first team to score against Morocco in the tournament.
Morocco after conceding in the early stages of the game dominated proceedings, seeing them hit the woodwork and miss some decent goal-scoring opportunities.
Despite falling behind, the Atlas Lions of Morocco, carrying the hopes of Africans and the Arabs needed some magic to work for them on the night since it was their first time going behind in the tournament.
Morocco managed to keep the scores at 1-0 into the second half hoping to come out in the second half with some belief and character to cause an upset. But that was not the case.
France with enough quality and experience managed to hold the Moroccans from getting the equalizer as they doubled their advantage in the 79th minute through substitute Randal Kolo Muani to put the game out of reach for the Atlas lions.
The game ended 2-0 in favour of France.
The defeat means Morocco will settle for third place against Croatia who lost to Argentina on Tuesday night.
