2022 WORLD CUP: Portugal favourite on paper – Andre Ayew

Captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew says Portugal are the favourites on paper going into their first group stage game at the ongoing 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew says Portugal are the favourites on paper going into their first group stage game at the ongoing 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Black stars will begin their campaign in Qatar later today Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Answering a question on who the favourite is at the pre-match press conference, the captain said “We all know that if we are going to get into this game, Portugal are the one who are favourites on paper.

“But after, we have to show on the field that on paper is not what will happen on the pitch so we are ready and we know we are playing a very big side who are European Champions years back who have top players.

“But we believe in ourselves and we know what’s ahead and we are going to do everything to make it very difficult for them” he ended.

Portugal is currently ranked ninth, whiles Ghana are 61st in the world.

The game will take place at the 974 stadium in Doha.
