The Qatar Football Association is set to dismantle stadium 974 after the venue held its last scheduled game yesterday December 5 between Brazil and South Korea.

The stadium was built temporarily with 974 containers and symbolizes the country’s international dial code.

In preparation for the tournament, Qatar built the 974 stadium to only host games during evening hours when temperatures are comparatively cooler than the daytime since it is the only non-air-conditioning stadium.

The stadium is an ode to Qatar’s commitment to cost-effective sustainability and is the first fully demountable covered football stadium.

Stadium 974 hosted seven games in total with the final one being the last 16 games between Brazil and South Korea.

The stadium has a capacity of up to 44,089 and is located in Ras Abu Aboud, Doha.

According to reports, the dismantled stadium could be shipped to countries that need infrastructure.

The final of the World Cup is expected to be played on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
