Ghana has won its fifth medal at the ongoing 2023 African Games in the country.

The medal tally for Ghana increased after Abeiku Jackson on Tuesday morning claimed a bronze medal in the men’s 100m butterfly, finishing with 53.80 seconds.

The medal is Abeiku’s second medal in the competition after he won the silver in men’s 50m butterfly.

The race was supposed to be held on Monday but was postponed due to a forced start.

The 23-year-old swimmer was beaten by  Egypt’s Nasr Abdalla, who won gold with 53.29 seconds and South Africa’s Eaton Jarden, who also took the silver medal with 53.45 seconds.
