Ghana’s women’s hockey team won gold medal after beating their West African counterparts, Nigeria in the final of the ongoing 2023 African Games at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra on Friday afternoon.
It was a difficult contest, as both teams set sight on adding more medals to their tally.
Ghana was dominant in the entire game but could not take the advantage to score as it travelled to penalties.
The hosts then secured victory, beating the Nigerians 4-3 on penalties.
