As part of this year’s ‘Green Ghana Day’, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Madam Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu led the Management and Staff of the Ministry to participate in the tree planting exercise.
The Minister with her Deputy as well as the Chief Director planted a mahogany tree to commemorate the day.
In a brief statement, the sector Minister indicated that being among trees gives real health benefits.
“Even looking at trees can calm us, reduce anger and feelings of depression”, she added.
She, therefore, charged the staff to plant more trees not only to provide them with shelter and shade but to enhance their mental health as well.
The tree planting exercise took place at the forecourt of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Present were the Deputy Minister, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, the Chief Director, Dr. Afisah Zakariah as well as some Management and staff of the Ministry.
