The Black Meteors of Ghana suffered a heavy defeat to host nation Morocco in their second group A Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match on Tuesday evening.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s team looked very disjointed in both halves as they conceded three goals in the first and two in the other half.
Goals from Amir Richardson, Ismael Saibari, Yanis Begraoui and Abde Ezzalzouli completed a fantastic night for the North Africa side, as they take top spot in the group with 6 points.
Ghana’s only goal came with just two minutes to end the first half after Salim Adams’s deflected shot beat Morocco’s goalkeeper.
Fatawu Issahaku also scored a brilliant long-range shot a minute after Salim Adams’s goal but did not stand as Emmanuel Yeboah controlled the ball outside the touchline in the build-up.
The results mean Ghana has now moved to third place with three points and will stand any chance of qualifying if they beat Guinea in their last game on July 30.
