Head coach of the Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko has expressed concern about his team’s lack of attention after they conceded two goals in one minute against Congo in their Africa Cup of Nations group A opener on Sunday.
Ernest Numah opened the scoring for the Meteors just four minutes after the beginning of the second half before Emmanuel Yeboah bagged a brace to give Ghana all three points.
Meanwhile, with lack of concentration, Congo scored two quick goals in the 92nd and 93rd minute in an attempt to cancel all three goals.
Expressing anger with the way his team defended, coach Ibrahim Tanko said he was not happy with the body language of some of his players.
“I am happy we have the three points but at the same time, I am very angry at my players because to receive two goals in 90 minutes is unacceptable.
I am not happy with the body language of some of the players who came in, and I will have to address that,” he fumed during his post-match press conference.
He added that the team will have a meeting to correct some of the mistakes they made before their next game.
“We are going to watch the game, and have a meeting to see what we did well and what we did not do well and then prepare for the next game.”
Ghana will face host nation Morocco on Tuesday, in their second group A match.
