Black Meteors forward, Ernest Nuamah, has apologized to Ghanaians for the poor performance of the team at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s team was placed in Group A with host nation Morocco, Guinea and Congo but failed to make it out the group.
Ghana after playing their three group stage matches, had only four points, which was not enough to advance them to the next round, with their only win coming against Congo in the first group match, whiles losing to Morocco and drawing against Guinea in their final group match.
Ernest Nuamah however, has taken to Twitter to render and apology to Ghanaians, admitting that their performance was below expectation.
“No excuses but our performances as a group was below expectations but personally I could do better to help the team. As a group if we ever have the opportunity again Ghana deserves better. I made some wrong decisions but I am grateful for this opportunity.”

Ghana’s early exit meant that they could not secure qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, as top three teams at the AFCON tournament will represent Africa at the global showpiece.
