The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and the leadership of the National Muslim Conference (NMC) have submitted their proposals to the flag bearers of the NPP and NPP for considerations into their 2024 Manifestos.
Paying a visit to the two leading parties, the Muslim community presented a proposed 14 point request to the leader of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama.
Accepting the proposal, the former President assured the National Chief Imam and the Muslim community in Ghana of taking keen interest in their proposals and promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the Muslim community benefits from what is due them.
Mr. Mahama further noted that, the Muslims voice will be heard in their 2024 Manifesto and work together to build a more inclusive and equitable Ghana.
On the part of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia reiterated the party’s commitment to inclusive development, and also pointed out infrastructural and other developmental projects the government has undertaken in the Zongo communities across the country such as classroom blocks, ICT libraries, mechanized water system, entrepreneurial training, scholarships and Astro turfs, funded through the Zongo Development Fund.
Dr. Bawumia also assured the NMC of continuous commitment to the development of the country through policies and structures adding that the party is ready to consider the inputs from the NMC, and other stakeholders, for inclusive development.
