The Black Queens of Ghana have recorded a home and away wins in the 2024 Olympic Games qualifying match against West African counterparts Guinea.
Nora Hauptle’s team won 4-0 in their second leg encounter with Guinea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, winning on 7-0 aggregate in both legs after the Black Queens first beat the Guineans 3-0 in their home ground in Conakry last week.
Ghana had complete control of the game in the first half, but they could only manage one goal before the break.
With 14 minutes to the end of the first 45 minutes, Evelyn Badu placed her team ahead with a superb solo goal.
Badu, who picked the ball from the center of the park sprinted past the opponent’s defenders, and slotted the ball in the top corner of the post after she spotted that the goalkeeper was out of her goal-line.
Just after the break, Priscilla Adubea added the second, before Evelyn Badu got on the scoresheet again to finish the afternoon with a brace.
Substitute Fridaus Yakubu scored the fourth goal on the 85th minute to end the game.
The Black Queens are now through to the next round of the qualifiers and will face Benin in their next game in October.
