A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy, has made recommendations that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is the flagbearer of the NPP, should select Kennedy Agyapong as his running mate for the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Arthur K. disclosed that Mr. Ken Agyapong, who gave Dr. Bawumia a horse race in the NPP flagbearer elections, has the credibility and integrity to partner with Dr. Bawumia.
In an interview on the Ghana Tonight Show on TV3, he said, “The choice of the running mate is always the prerogative of the presidential candidate, and he tells you who he is going to be. I think that in terms of signalling, he can understand the yearning for change.
“Integrity and plain speaking Kennedy Agyapong deserves serious consideration as a running mate on the NPP side.”
He further stated that the 2024 general elections will be characterised by three key pertinent issues: corruption, nepotism, and incompetence.
He was quick to say that he had eyes on the ground to see how the aforementioned issues would be tackled by the contesting candidates in their campaign kits because of the danger they pose to the growth of the country.
“The biggest issues of this election should be corruption, nepotism, and incompetence,” he added.
