The Black Stars of Ghana will hold their first training session at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.
Head Coach Chris Hughton last Thursday named his 25-man squad for the two games but had to hand a late call up to Medeama SC defender Nurudeen Abdulai and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Leicester City to replace Abdul Mumin and KamalDeen Sulemana who pulled out of the initial squad.
As per the initial itinerary released by the GFA, the team was scheduled to depart Accra for Kumasi tomorrow but that has changed without reasons being provided.
The team’s scheduled training session at the Accra Sports Stadium will now take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with most of the playing body already in camp.
The likes of Alidu Seidu, Iñaki Williams, Joseph Wollacott and Joseph Paintsil have been seen in camp last night.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Nurudeen Abdulai who were handed late call-ups to the national team have also reported and are ready to depart for Kumasi.
The first two training sessions at Baba Yara which will happen today and tomorrow will be behind closed doors according to the GFA.
Ghana will play Madagascar on Friday, November 17, 2023, and then leave for Comoros on Saturday.
