The Air India Boeing 787 crashed into a densely populated Meghani Nagar area, colliding with houses and a local hostel said to house medical students. This led to widespread destruction, a huge fire, thick smoke, and numerous civilian casualties on the ground.
Emergency services are actively conducting rescue and recovery operations in the affected community.
