Between January and August 2025, a total of 312 Ghanaians were deported from the U.S. to Accra, marking a 17% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

The Ghanaian government has also expressed concern over the rising numbers, emphasizing the importance of providing support and reintegration assistance for returning nationals.
Experts suggest that the increase in deportations could be attributed to stricter enforcement of immigration policies in the United States, as well as a rise in Ghanaian nationals seeking opportunities abroad without adequate documentation.
