The Nkwatia Divisional Police are conducting a manhunt for three male Mpraeso SHS students accused of gang raping a female student.
Headmaster of the school, Mr. Affadu James told myrepubliconline.com that, the victim, name withheld is a 16 – year-old student of the school.
He added that the issue is currently before the disciplinary committee who have dismissed all the eight suspects from the school.
According to him, the matter has also been handed over to the Nkwatia Divisional Police command who have arrested five out of eight boys.
The incident is said to have happened on Sunday, October 13.
The victim said she went to the school canteen to buy food. According to her, she was called by one guy who was already in the canteen. She said upon reaching out to the guy, seven other boys appeared and pounced on her and force themselves on her.
“I went to the school canteen to get food. When I got there, a guy called me. When I was talking to him, seven other guys appeared and they dragged me down and raped me”,
The police is yet to prepare the docket to send the suspects to court for the appropriate prosecution.
