A devastating flood has submerged several homes in the Dansoman area and its environs in Accra.
Residents at Shiabu, Gbegbesie, Glefe, Ebenezer Down and Pambros all suburb of Dansoman in the Greater Accra Region on Friday morning were seen counting their loses after the heavy rains flooded their homes.
The rain which started around 3:30a.m rained for two hours thirty minutes but was enough to cause flooding at the flood prone areas.
According to some residents at Shiabu, the floods were caused by the indiscriminate dumping of rubbish in the gutters and unauthorized structures on on water way.
A resident, Mrs Berlinda Adokwei, whose room got flooded blamed authorities at Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly for failing to demolished buildings on water way in the area.
The visit to the affected areas also showed many victims scooping the water that entered in their rooms, compounds and shops with buckets and any other material they could lay hands on.
Some of the items destroyed by the rains includes mattress, fridges, standing fans, irons and many other clothes running into millions of Ghana Cedis
