82% of Ghanaians believe Ghana is headed in the wrong direction – Afrobarometer

A recent Afrobarometer report, compiled by the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), reveals that 82% of surveyed Ghanaians believe the country is moving in the wrong direction.

A recent Afrobarometer report, compiled by the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), reveals that 82% of surveyed Ghanaians believe the country is moving in the wrong direction.

The report indicates a five percent decrease from 2023, when 87 percent believed Ghana was being poorly managed.

The 2024 report suggests that only “15% of Ghanaians think Ghana is headed in the right direction.

The report further revealed that “85% of Ghanaians want free SHS maintained  along with the Planting for Food and Jobs program (81%), One District One Factory (71%), and One Village One Dam policy (60%) while 80% of Ghanaians want e-levy cancelled, 82% have experienced some degree of poverty and unemployment top concern of Ghanaians and Ghanaians struggle to access basic services.”

The Afrobarometer report is a Pan-African, non-partisan survey research network that provides reliable data on African experiences and evaluations of democracy, governance, and quality of life.
