A Wesley Grammar school bus carrying students reportedly caught fire at the Kasoa Tollbooth enroute Ngleshie Amanfrom on Friday, November 28. School passengers aboard the bus managed to flee for their lives.
The bus had 83 students and five teachers on board at the time of the deadly incident.
A Sports teacher Richard Boafo, who was a leading member accompanying the students, said they were en route to Ngleshie Amanfro Senior High School for a sporting event when the fire broke out.
He confirmed that everyone on board was able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported.
“We noticed smoke coming out of the bus, so we asked all the students to move out immediately. Fortunately, all 83 students and five teachers on board escaped safely, but the bus was completely burnt to ashes.”
