The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has officially launched the 2025 DV plates across all its operational offices in Ghana, introducing advanced security features aimed at preventing counterfeiting and ensuring authenticity.
Julius Neequaye Kotey, Chief Executive of the DVLA, described the new plates as a significant advancement in vehicle registration and licensing.
“We are excited to introduce the 2025 DV plate, which represents a significant improvement in vehicle registration and licensing in Ghana. The new plate demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance security and convenience for its customers,” he stated.
The upgraded plates come with enhanced security features such as holograms, watermarks, and QR codes, all designed to prevent unauthorised duplication and safeguard vehicle owners from fraud.
The 2025 DV plates are now available nationwide, allowing vehicle owners, automobile dealers, distributors, freight forwarders, and agents to acquire them at any DVLA operational office.
In a bid to curb illegal activities, the DVLA, in collaboration with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, has issued a strong warning against the use or trade of counterfeit DV plates.
Authorities have launched efforts to track down and prosecute individuals involved in such illegal practices.
