The Chief Executive Officer of the African Prosperity Network (APN), Sidig Faroug El Toum, has reaffirmed that the goal of the African Prosperity Dialogue (APD) is to shape a unified and interconnected continent.

Speaking on the second day of the high-level event at the Accra International Conference Centre, Mr. El Toum emphasized that the three-day summit is not just a forum for discussion but a platform to drive actionable strategies that will propel Africa toward economic transformation.

“We gather here today not just to discuss, but to shape the policies and strategies that will define our continent’s future. The conversations we hold today are not just discussions; they are Africa’s future,” he stated.

The APN CEO called for enhanced collaboration among key stakeholders, urging African nations to invest in shared economic goals and integrate their markets to achieve sustained growth.

“The tragedy of Africa is not that we lack resources, but that we lack the collective will to drive our own destiny. Let us make this another milestone in our shared journey towards a prosperous and connected Africa,” he remarked.

The African Prosperity Dialogue 2025, which commenced on Thursday, January 30, is set to conclude on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The flagship event has brought together 3,000 delegates from 46 countries, including seven African Heads of State, institutional leaders, industry players, and entrepreneurs. The gathering aims to foster policy reforms and economic partnerships that will accelerate Africa’s integration and global competitiveness.

As the dialogue progresses, participants are expected to outline concrete steps towards achieving a borderless and interoperable Africa, reinforcing the continent’s collective vision for economic prosperity.
