The CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr. Osman Ayariga, Esq., has assured persons with disabilities of the Authority’s unwavering support, emphasizing that “disability is not inability.”

He stated that NYA’s doors are always open for them to present their initiatives and participate in youth-focused programs.

“We recognize the immense potential within the disability community, and at NYA, we are committed to creating opportunities for everyone. Our goal is to ensure that no young person is left behind,” Mr. Ayariga stated.

He further announced an upcoming project designed to showcase the talents and contributions of persons with disabilities and encouraged them to submit proposals for consideration. He also acknowledged the presence of Mr. Jacob Adongo Atule, Deputy CEO in charge of Finance and Administration, emphasizing his role in ensuring greater inclusion for the disability community.

Mr. Kofi Michael, Deputy Communicator for NDC’s Persons with Disabilities group, made a presentation of handmade items like liquid soaps, etc. to the authority and congratulated the NYA leadership, including the CEO and his deputies, and expressed appreciation for their willingness to support the disability community. He called on the Authority to help highlight their achievements and plans, stressing the need for stronger collaboration to drive meaningful impact.

It can be recalled that President John Dramani Mahama appointed Mr. Jacob Adongo Atule, a visually impaired individual, to serve as the Deputy CEO of NYA in charge of Finance and Administration, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusivity.
