The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with a recent robbery that occurred at Offinso Abofour, resulting in the theft of gold and an unspecified amount of money.

The suspect, identified as Seidu, was apprehended on Saturday, May 25, 2025, during a targeted police operation following credible intelligence.

Authorities say preliminary investigations point to Seidu’s direct involvement in the robbery, which is believed to be part of a wider pattern of criminal activity.

According to the police, Seidu is currently in custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations. He is suspected to have links to multiple robbery cases across various regions in the country, raising concerns about an organized network of criminal operations.

Efforts are underway to track down Seidu’s accomplices, with the police assuring the public that every resource is being deployed to bring all involved parties to justice.

“The arrest of suspect Seidu is a significant step in our ongoing fight against violent crime,” a police spokesperson said.

“We are committed to ensuring that no criminal goes unpunished, and we call on the public to support our work by sharing relevant information that could aid investigations.”

The Police Service also reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring residents of Offinso and its environs of heightened security presence in the wake of the incident.
