A Ghana Immigration Officer, Stephen Amoah has been discovered dead a week after being declared missing.

A brother of the deceased officer in an interview admitted and recounted the circumstances leading to the death of his brother.

“My brother has been found dead at Berekuso near Aburi, he was found dead with his neck slashed and burnt and wrapped inside a blanket”

On the evening of July 3, 2025, the GIS officer received a call from a close friend identified as Bright Aweh, who told him to meet him at Aggie’s Spot in Ashongman Estate to settle the outstanding debt of GH¢200,000.

Tragically, that was the last time the father of two was seen alive by both his family and friends.

However, all attempts to reach him the proved futile forcing his family to declare him missing

In a twist, the friend who allegedly invited Amoah admitted to meeting him and claimed he did not only pay the GHS200,000 debt but also gave him an additional GHS300,000 to keep safely.

The friend has since been arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Here’s a copy of a police statement made by Stephen King Amoah’s family after his disappearance on July 3, 2025.

Stephen King Amoah was enlisted into the Ghana Immigration Service in 2013.

Before his tragic demise, Amoah was a popular figure at the Sports Department of the Ghana Immigration Service headquarters.

He married his longtime girlfriend who’s a police officer, on March 28, 2018, at Tafo Nhyiaeso in Kumasi.

The couple are blessed with a 4-year-old boy and a 5-month-old baby.
