The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, has arrested Mr. Daniel Adomako, popularly known on social media as “Sir Obama Pokuase.”
The arrest, which took place earlier today, forms part of intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling networks involved in the illegal possession and display of sophisticated weapons.
According to a press release signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the suspect is assisting with investigations into images and videos he allegedly circulated on social media showing individuals openly brandishing illegally acquired weapons.
“These operations, which have been ongoing for several weeks, have resulted in the retrieval of a substantial number of illegal arms and ammunition,” the statement said.
In a related development, three other individuals — Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye — are in police custody assisting with investigations into threats of death and the publication of false news following the recent helicopter crash.
The Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety by rooting out criminal elements and preventing the proliferation of illegal arms.
“We urge the public to continue providing credible information to assist us in these crucial operations,” ACP Ansah-Akrofi stressed, adding that further updates will be provided as investigations progress, in line with due process.
