A heartbreaking incident has rocked the Hangaline community, a suburb of Damongo, where a newly born baby boy was discovered abandoned at a refuse dump in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to an eyewitness, she had gone to dispose off rubbish when she heard a baby crying.
It is reported that she quickly alerted sanitation workers nearby, who rushed to the container and discovered a sack containing the newborn, wrapped with its placenta.

According to reports, the baby has been taken to the Damongo Clinic, where health officials confirm he is in stable condition.

He has since been transferred to St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital and placed in an incubator for further care.
