The Tain District Assembly has donated over 700 dual desks to the Tain District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service to distribute to 48 schools, both JHS and Primary in the district.

The dual desks were presented to the Directorate on Monday, August 30, 2021 in Nsawkaw, the capital of Tain District of the Bono Region, to feed schools in the District and its environs that were in acute need of educational furniture for pupils.

Mr. Manu Isaac, the Presiding Member of Tain District on behalf of the Tain District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Lawyer Foriwaa Dwomoh, presenting the furniture to the Education Directorate stated that the furniture will help decline the rate of students sitting on blocks and on grounds when studying in class.

Mr. Manu asked the Directorate to ensure that the desks were distributed to the needed schools to serve their intended purpose.

Mr. Domah Mark Godfred, the District Director of Education, who received the furniture, said the items were donated at the right time to solve the problem where some schools were in dire need of them.

He said his office would ensure all schools practiced the maintenance culture to preserve the items, and would intensify monitoring and supervision in schools to improve teaching and learning.

At attendance to the event, Nana Barima Appiah Kubi, the Atipemhene of the Nsawkaw Traditional Council also showed his gratitude on behalf the Nsawkaw Manhene, Okogyeaman Duodu Ampem II for the support and that the gesture would motivate them.
