Sixteen people were rescued on Tuesday, November 18, following a head-on collision between a Ford Transit and a Kia Rhino at Nyamebekyere on the Sunyani–Kumasi highway.

The accident occurred around 5:38 a.m., prompting a rapid response from firefighters at the Bechem Fire Station.

An eight-member rescue team, led by STNO II Simon Yeboah, extricated all occupants—14 from the Ford Transit (AS 7172-23) and two from the Kia Rhino (AS 3058-X).

The injured were taken to Bechem Government Hospital and PISGAH Advanced Medical Center for treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, although both vehicles sustained significant damage.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
