The Ambassador of Denmark to Ghana, Tom Nørring on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 interacted with some beneficiaries of the Government of Denmark COVID-19 Response in Ghana project in Nungua-Zongo, a community that has been struggling with access to clean drinking water since the 1960’s.
Through the Danish funded project, more than 8000 people in that community alone will have water together with eight more communities in Greater Accra and Kumasi. Better access to water means better livelihood, as stated by the beneficiaries.
Tom Nørring also interacted with health staff at Nungua Authority where they demonstrated how the Danish support has made it possible to use new digital technology that will strengthen the health care of the people, and consequently contribute to reduced mortality and less sick days among the most vulnerable citizens in these communities.
In all, 9 communities, 70 schools, 10 health facilities and 20 public spaces in Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi will be connected to water, receive infection prevention control equipment and supplies under the project.
