Tarkwa Police appeal to relatives in Shama car crash to help identify bodies

The Western Regional Police MTTD Commander, Chief Superintendent, Isaac K Sorkpah, has urged persons whose relatives traveled on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from Tarkwa to Accra and have not arrived at their destinations to contact the Tarkwa station.

The Western Regional Police MTTD Commander, Chief Superintendent, Isaac K Sorkpah, has urged persons whose relatives traveled on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from Tarkwa to Accra and have not arrived at their destinations to contact the Tarkwa station.

According to him, this would enable the Police to identify passengers who boarded a Ford vehicle with registration number GW 6628-21 which was involved in a fatal accident.

Speaking with Accra -based Citi News, Chief Superintendent Isaac K Sorkpah said at the moment, they have been able to recognize the identity of the ford bus, GW 6628-21.

Background

Fourteen passengers are feared dead after they were involved in an accident at Asemasa No 1 near Beposo in the Shama District of the Western Region.

Report says, the accident which involved a truck and a Ford Passenger vehicle occurred on Tuesday, March 22 when the two vehicles caught fire.

Eyewitnesses said the accident was a head-on collision.

He reported that in the process, the two vehicles caught fire after colliding.
