Nkawkaw Hene calls on Markets Queens, others for stakeholders engagement

The Chief of Nkawkaw, Nana Osono Adade II has called on the various transport unions and market Queens in the Nkawkaw Municipality to discuss issues that will see to the growth of Nkawkawman.

The Chief of Nkawkaw, Nana Osono Adade II has called on the various transport unions and market Queens in the Nkawkaw Municipality to discuss issues that will see to the growth of Nkawkawman.

Nana Osono Adade II whiles speaking to Republic FM’s Andy Frimpong Manso at a press briefing in the Nkawkaw Palace on Saturday, April 23, stated that, during his reign, he will ensure that sanity, justice and good moral values are instilled in his people.

The Chief who was entrusted to ascend the throne some few months ago believes that unity and continuous engagements amongst the traditional authority, the Municipal Assembly and the various unions will empower the economic vehicle of the municipality for extensive development.

“I’m very delighted that you have heed to my call, I thought few of you would come but if I look at your numbers, I’m very grateful. If we want to build a nation, drivers and market women are very important, they have the numbers. They are the backbone of ground transportation and our they convey our market women to bring in their goods and that is why I’ve called you here to know you so you can know me as well”

Chairman of the drivers unions whiles speaking, appealed to the chief to assist in providing a Lorry Station for drivers to ease the growing tension between the drivers and the Assembly over unlawful parking and loading on principal Streets in the municipality.

“Our grievances are many, the Chief said he heard there’s no issues and someone also said, there are. We are having challenges and of it all is Lorry station, we don’t have any and that is why we are having all these problems so I appeal to the chief to help us get a lorry station”.

Queen mother of the markets Queens, Nana Ama Ayeni thanked the chief for calling for the stakeholders engagement and pledged that the market women work earnestly with the traditional authority to ensure the growth and development of the people.

Before the engagement with markets Queens and the transport unions, the Chief had met with leaders of other tribes especially the northern and the Volta Region respectively who lives and pride their trades on Nkawkaw land to discuss cooperation and unity issues.

The leaders of the two tribes, Nkawkaw Zongo Hene and the Ayigbe Hene in nkawkaw assured the chief that all efforts will put in place to ensure there is peace among various tribes in the municipality as far as they are concerned.

Meanwhile the Chief has vowed that Okwahu United football club shall be supported wholesomely to represent the face of Okwahuman football.
