The Ministry of Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development on behalf of its sector Minister, Mr. Dan Kwaku Botwe has provided motorbikes for Kwahu Afram Plains South Assembly members.
The District Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Evans Kyei Ntiri while speaking to Republic FM’s Andy Frimpong Manso during the distribution of the motorbikes to the Assembly members at the forecourt of the Kwahu Afram Plains South District Assembly, said, the provision of the motorbikes was very necessary to assist the members of the Assembly to commute easily on their daily duties.

“We thank the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP – led administration and the Local government minister, Mr. Kwaku Botwe for having the foresight of making local government development more visible o the people and that’s why today, on behalf of the President, Kwahu Afram Plains South our share of the motorbikes has been provided”.
The district has 41 Assembly members. This provision of the motorbikes will go a long way to provide easy movement to embark on their duties in their various electoral, the DCE said.

”Today everybody will have their motorbikes from their Assembly in order to help make their duties easier and accessible in their various electoral areas, so in all, we are providing 41 motorbikes to 41 Assembly members”, he added.
Considering the nature of deplorable state of roads in the area, the DCE said, notwithstanding the fact that there are no proper roads in the area, major adjoining towns in the area are rural areas where vehicles cannot be used hence, the motorbikes were the best of option for the members.
“Most of our towns in the district are rural areas where vehicles can not go and so I think the motorbikes will help especially our colleagues living annex the Afram Plains lake.
Meanwhile, the Assembly reelected its Presiding member for a second time in a row at the Assembly’s 1st ordinary meeting of the 3rd session of the 3rd Assembly of the Kwahu Afram Plains South District, held yesterday, June 9, 2022.
