Chief of Defense Staff of the Ghanaian Armed Forces (GAF) – Vice Admiral (V/Adm) Seth Amoama has urged the authors to consider a mix of traditional print and electronic publishing to remain relevant to young and old.

He popularized it by publishing a book called WEST TO EAST: MY EAST AFRICAN SOJOURNS.

The 131-page, 17-chapter book was written by Brigadier General Daniel Kwadjo Frimpong (RTD).

The book is the fourth book the retired soldier has written, after publishing his first book, Leadership and the Challenges of Command: the Ghana Military Academy Experience, in 2010.

2017 also saw the publication of the book “Kofi Chokosi Speaks” and 2019 the book “Retirement Musings”.

Vice Admiral Amoama described the author as a shrewd and accomplished general, always ready to help him with his immense knowledge and experience, and praised the author for his good works.

“Your articles published in the electronic media are read with considerable interest because your analysis of the problems of society is not only admirable, but also easy to read, understandable and interesting,” he recommended.

General Frimpong has served in East African countries as a high-level United Nations military adviser to former President Joachim Chissano of Mozambique and as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and in the affected countries of Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic and South Sudan.

General Frimpong also recently served in Kenya as the chief executive officer of the African Peace Support Trainers Association and it is a combination of all these experiences during his roster that he has collected in this book.

He recalled a travel period in which he and President Chissano spent 18 months looking everywhere for the LRA leader.
