Personnel of the Ghana Police Service have gunned down three suspected robbers at Obosomase in the Akuapem North Municipality in the Eastern Region.
The incident is reported to have occurred at about 7 am on Tuesday, August 23.
According to some eyewitnesses, a gunshot was heard seven times at Obosomase Aroma Junction. Quickly, residents of the community rushed to ascertain what had happened and found out that four people have been moved to the Mampong police station.
A follow-up revealed that three men who are Ahwereng, Akroma and Elisha native of Obosomase were allegedly shot dead by Police, while one other was arrested. The reports indicate that two of the men are Ex-Convicts.
Eye witness reports allegedly established that the four men went on robbery hunting and on their way back, they met with police which subsequently forced a fire exchange in which the Police overpowered the robbers.
