A 23-year-old man, Emmanuel Amoah is currently battling for his life at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu following a shooting incident at Assin Adiembra in the Assin South District.
Information gathered by myrepubliconline.com indicates the suspect whose name was given only as K.B asked the victim to escort him to the farm to break cocoa pods.
When they got to the farm, the suspect led the victim into a deep forest and asked him to wait for him at a particular spot so he is going to ease himself.
The victim while waiting, started feeling uncomfortable with the situation so he decided to run to a plane sight of the bush.
In the process of his movement, the suspect directed the gun at him and shot him in the back without provocation.
While lying motionless, the suspect used the gun barrel to feel the victim’s body to confirm he is dead.
The victim who imagined the suspect could shoot him again feigned his death but later crawled on his knees to the road for help while bleeding profusely.
Meanwhile, the mother of the victim, Ama Dapaah has charged the police to investigate the case to its bearers minimum. She also called on the police administration to intensify patrol in the area to ensure that the people go about their daily activities without fear.
Confirming the incident, the police say the victim is in their custody assisting the investigation.
