The Akwamuhene of Techiman Traditional Council in the Bono East Region, Nana Owusu Gyare II has called on Well-doing individuals in the society to support their alma mater with the provision of infrastructure.

According to the Techiman Akwamuhene, President Akufo-Addo led NPP Government has done tremendously well in the education sector, especially with the introduction of the Free SHS policy which has allowed every Ghanaian child to enjoy at least secondary education but has been met with serious infrastructure challenges and therefore requires the assistance of all Patriotic groups and individuals.

The Akwamuhene also added that government alone cannot meet all the demands of the growing population in our schools hence old students should help their schools.

Nana Owusu Gyare II made this appeal in an interview with Peace News Nana Kwadwo Adu of Asta Fm when he chaired the 60th Anniversary Launch of Techiman Senior High School (Super TESS) under the theme; “Delivering Quality Education for Life in Our Challenging Society, the role of Stakeholders”.

The Bono East Regional Director of Education, Mrs Efuah Amoah commended Government for efforts being made to give every child a quality education and encouraged parents to play their roles effectively to support Schools management and Staff to secure a better future for the Nation.

Meanwhile, Mr Gabriel Ofosu-Mensah, the Headmaster of Techiman Senior High School outlined some challenges they are facing and called on all Old Students and Philanthropic Organizations to come to their aid before the main 60th Anniversary scheduled to be celebrated in November 2023.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko who is also an Old Student of Super TESS said government and the Assembly would do their best to address the problems.
