Black Stars coach Otto Addo has lamented that Africa is given only five spots at the World Cup.
African countries were given five spots in the World Cup in the year 1998 for the first time, up from the 24 teams in 1994 and since then, Africa is always represented by five teams.
Ghana’s coach speaking at the pre-match conference said it is always difficult for African nations to do well at the world tournament due to the few spots they have.
“I said before we have very few spots, Africa has 55 countries and five spots are very low so it is very difficult for us. The probability for us to proceed is lower than other nations like Europe.” He said.
The countries that represented Africa in this year’s tournament include Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia and Morocco.
