The Majority caucus in Parliament is said to be delaying processes to commence voting for the ministerial appointees presented by the President due to their inability to make the numbers in the House.
On the floor of Parliament on Friday, March 24, 2023, the majority were reluctant to commence voting as they believe their numbers were not up to the required number to make them win the vote.
The Speaker has however suspended sittings to decide on the matter.
Parliament was scheduled to complete the appointment of the nominees today March 24, 2023, but members of the House are divided.
According to the minority, they believe the majority is delaying the process because of their numbers.
Again, the minority, led by Hon. Ato Forson has threatened to vote against all nominees since they want the President to cut down the size of its government
The majority on the other hand claim that, the minority is trying to bring party issues to the House to influence its processes which are not right.
The nominees are MP for Abetifi constituency, Hon. Bryan Acheampong, Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Minister of State designate at the Ministry of Finance, Hon. Osei Bonsu Amoah, Minister of State designate, Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development.
