Kumasi Asante Kotoko came from behind to beat league leaders Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, causing a huge blow to the title hopes of the Dormaa based club.
Aduana made a superb start as Isaac Mintah gave them the lead in the 26th minute but Stephen Mukwala got his team back on level with a beautiful 36th minute strike into the top corner of the post.
In the second half, Serge Eric Zeze produced a magical show, with going past Aduana defenders, to place the ball in the bottom corner of the net from outside the 18-yard box, to give the Porcupine Warriors a 2-1 lead.
Aduana are now just three points ahead of Bechem United, who sit second with 44 points.
On Friday, Accra Lions defeated Medeama SC 4-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Striker of Accra Lions got a brace in both halves, to give his side the victory while Medeama’s two consolation goals came from a spot kick.
Accra Hearts of Oak on Saturday lost to Bechem United at the Nana Gyeabour Park.
The only goal of the game came in the first half, after Bechem United was awarded a penalty, which Hafiz Konkoni calmly slotted into the post.
With a convincing 2-0 victory over Karela United away from home on Sunday, Legon Cities climbed up the league table to 12th position, moving out of the relegation zone.
