President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Abraham Neequaye, has revealed that Britain-based Ghanaian boxer, Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones has changed his nationality to the United Kingdom (UK).

According to him, the boxer had come for license from the GBA to fight for Ghana before his first fight, but he changed his mind just before his first professional bout.

“We sent him a message and they can check it from Freezy himself, that before he will leave the shores of Ghana for the UK, and had not fought his first fight, he came for the GBA license but when he wanted to fight in the UK,  and they wanted a release letter from us, he changed his mind and said he wanted to fight for Britain,” he said in his interview with Romeo TV.

Asked whether the boxing authority will welcome him to fight under Ghana’s name if he changes his mind in the future, he said: “He is a Ghanaian and we will welcome him and help him with our coaches.”

The 33-year old started his boxing career at the age of twenty seven in the UK, after he left Ghana in 2012

He first caught the attention of Ghanaians in April this year, when he defeated Darryl Sharp in his second professional bout at the Copper Boxing Arena in London.
