Flagbearer aspirants for the New Patriotic Party have been made aware of how they will appear on the ballot paper for the special delegate congress on August 26.
At the balloting on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, seven of the candidates were present to pick their own slots while three were represented.
At the end of the balloting, Vice President who was represented by his agents picked the 10th position while MP for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and former trade minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen picked the first and second slots respectively.
The special delegate congress is expected to reduce the number of aspirants to 5 as mandated by the party’s constitution and will also take place at regional levels after the leadership of the party dismissed a petition by nine candidates to hold the congress at a single venue.
Prior to the balloting, the party also indicated that the Electoral Commission would be in charge of printing ballot papers.
