The paramount chief of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area has been sworn in and admitted into the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs in a short but colorful ceremony at the Conference Hall of the House at the Eastern Region capital, Koforidua.
Led by the Supervising High Court Judge, Mrs. Comfort Bekyem, and the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Nene Sackite II, Kotokuhene Oseadiayo Frimpong Manso IV, swore the oath of office and secrecy to the house.
The President of the House of Chiefs, Nene Sackite II, was very excited and said the admission of the Akyem Kotokuhene into the regional House of Chiefs makes the house fully present now and is welcome and good news to the house, recalling that previously their absence affected the proceedings of the Eastern Region House of Chiefs.
He was glad that the chiefs have finally joined the house and stated that their addition to the house would add to the progress made, adding that the chiefs would help reduce the workload that fell on a few people. He assured that the Regional House of Chiefs will continue to work around the clock to resolve all other outstanding chieftaincy disputes in the region to help maintain peace and unity.
Kotokuhene Oseadiayo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, in his acceptance speech, pledged to give his utmost service to Akyem Kotoku and call for unity, peace, and harmony within Akyem Kotoku and the entire country.
