Former captain of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah, has urged the Black Stars to make an emphatic statement by winning the game against Central African Republic on Thursday afternoon.

According to him, the match is a special one because it is the last qualifying match for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.

He said this during his visit to the team last night, after their last training session.

“You guys know the assignment already. Tomorrow is the last game to qualify for AFCON, and I know that you are ready, I can see. Tomorrow is strategic because tomorrow will qualify you to Côte d’Ivoire. You have to win the hearts of the fans. That’s the most important thing,” he said.

Ghana is currently top of Group E with 9 points and will hope to get all three points to cement the position.

Angola follows with 8 points, while Central African Republic sits third with 7 points. The bottom of the table is Madagascar with only 2 points.
