A newborn baby that was abandoned by an unknown mother near the bank of a river at Manso Tontokrom in the Ashanti region, has been found alive.
Residents in the vicinity rescued the nine-month-old baby girl after hearing a weird sound of a baby wailing near the river on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Residents said they were afraid to approach the infant because of superstition beliefs surrounding the river.
They noticed the poor infant abandoned on the river bank as they approached the river, and they hastily took her up, covered her in a cloth, and rushed her to a local clinic for treatment.
The incident has now been reported to police, who are on the lookout for the unknown mother.
